Deadly accident: High speeding bike collides with pick-van in Bengal; 3 killed

A tragic road accident occurred in Agarpara, North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, claiming the lives of three individuals.

The incident took place at 7 am on Sunday when a collision transpired between a motorcycle and a pickup van on BT Road. Shockingly, none of the three victims were wearing helmets, according to local sources.

The accident unfolded near Tetultal turn of Panihati, in front of the fire department. As the motorcycle, traveling from Dunlap towards Barrackpore, collided with the speeding pickup van, all three riders were thrown onto the road. The victims' identities have yet to be established, and the Khardah police station has recovered their bodies.

Eyewitnesses described the three youths on the motorcycle riding at an excessive speed along BT Road. The collision occurred in front of the fire brigade office near Panihati Tetultala turn. The impact of the pickup van colliding with the bike led to the tragic outcome, leaving the three riders dead at the scene.

The incident, which transpired around 7 am on Sunday, caused tension in the Agarpara area, particularly around Tetultala Mod. The Khaddah police promptly responded to the scene, recovering the victims' bodies. The collision also resulted in damage to a traffic kiosk situated on BT Road, as both vehicles appeared to lose control before the collision.

Residents in the vicinity of BT Road have raised concerns about reckless driving practices leading to frequent accidents in the area. They urge traffic police to maintain strict vigilance to prevent such incidents. However, there are complaints regarding the lackadaisical attitude of the police force.

In a separate incident on the same morning, a collision between two cars in Rajarhat Newtown resulted in injuries to both drivers. Sadly, Sunday morning witnessed the loss of three lives due to speeding in North 24 Parganas, along with two additional injuries in Newtown.
